Breakfast is a languid and global affair. Sitting beneath the palms with a temperature made to order, my plate is full of pungent cheeses, glistening figs and shiny black olives; perfect and bursting with dark flavour. Steaming coffee constantly replenished by a man in white with his silver pot. Always rich and fresh as though brewed anticipating my mind. My name is known, my preferences pre catered to and my palate always attended.
There will be no weary travellers within these walls; such are the delights of The Spa offerings. With an ice cold limóncello in hand I move from selecting my treatment, to selecting my mood on the music menu to lull me into the ultimate state of relaxation. My therapist knows that to truly relax, every sense must be catered for. A 24 karat gold, life infusing facial will prepare my skin for the evening ahead.
Slowly I awake from this blissful state as the curtains draw back to reveal a Dubai sunset, pink and golden across the sky. Like the city, I am glowing.
That is such a spellbindingly fantastic view! I love the dancing fountains and am off to see if I can find a YouTube video of them in action (I’ve always really adored fountains and water works shows).
It’s a really lovely treat to get to experience your trip via your posts about it, especially for an armchair international traveler like me.

Jessica: Thank you so much! It is an honour to be able to share these tales from across the world with you all. Should you ever be able to travel the world for real, I highly recommend this makes it onto the top 10 list 🙂
I loved reading your posts about Dubai, Candice. I went in 2011 as a stopover rather than a holiday and I think I need to go back and spend more time there!
