I feel quite at ease, floating along these cobbled streets in my jewelled sandals and voluminous black skirt. Everyone around me becomes distant and my romantic mind takes over.
While groups of tourists move orderly into the small museum, I’m in another world entirely; remembering childhood stories of Babylon, the Euphrates, date palms in the desert and the Empires of pre Biblical times. It is easy to get lost here, both metaphorically and literally, as I did a little later.
