It’s become a family tradition that each August when the frost has well and truly set in, that we take a long vacation to Thailand. Where instead of waking up to fog and grey skies, it is morning swims and fruit platters by the pool. This Winter however, we’ve stayed home to keep on working on this renovation.
The colder it is outside, the more I’m looking forward to all that Spring brings, especially the beginning of Vintage and Retro festival season! Dresses, parasols, picnics and long afternoons; all the good stuff.
Greazefest kicked off in Brisbane last week and will be coming to Melbourne for the first time this weekend. Living vicariously through my Facebook friends this time, I stayed home to sew and start the wonderful process of outfit planning. Half the fun of these events is in story boarding what to wear, how to cope with weather eventualities and how your outfits may stand up to the rigours of dancing, shopping and general merriment.
If you know Melbourne you’ll know that our weather is highly unpredictable, so forward planning is absolutely essential for outfit success. So I’ve put together a little “Wish List” style, outfit inspiration for you. Of course you can click through to see where each of these pieces comes from, but you could also do what I do and shop your wardrobe, local op shop or borrow from a friend to put together a little bit of magic.
