Some of you will have seen my truly terrifying Halloween outfit last night if you follow my Instagram, but here it is in all it’s tanned scary-ness!
After everyone started saying nice things about it, I decided to make it even a bit trashier and go even bigger on the hair and make it Jersey Shore meets Kardashian style!
It really freaks me out looking at myself like this and even my Mum had trouble talking to me!¬†Thanks to all of you who helped vote in this option as my Halloween look; it was hilarious, but sadly no-one in the public complimented me on my costume, only the kids! The humid weather meant my hair got bigger and bigger till I looked like a trailer trash train wreck at the end of the night. Mr. SKM didn’t recognise me when he came to meet us!
Thanks to my Dad for these candid Trick or Treating shots.
There’s been a lot of conversation on whether we should celebrate Halloween here in Australia, but in my family we’re for it. Probably because we’ll take any occasion to get into costume and do things on theme. The girls had an absolute blast and the thought of getting to wear their outfits on the street has been a highlight of the last few months. Miss 8 is currently obsessed with Pokemon so I decided to make her a full body Pikachu costume. It turns out it was a little tricker than I expected, but without a pattern it took close to 4-5 hours all up. I still managed to get the legs a little too short, but the good intentions were there.
My Mum and Dad put together a great little Halloween party for us all, where my dad used his ever inventive skills by creating spooky “Halloween Oranges”, and my brother’s girlfriend (who’s used to celebrating in the USA) brought a pumpkin she’d carved herself!
We had a fantastic time with two very happy little girls and I couldn’t wait to get that makeup off!
So pretty scary or what?!
